Galle is a sea side city with pristine beaches, surfing , whale watching and much more to explore.

Galle Fort

Founded in the 16th century by the Portuguese, Galle reached the height of its development in the 18th century, before the arrival of the British. It is the best example of a fortified city built by Europeans in South and South-East Asia, showing the interaction between European architectural styles and South Asian traditions. https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/451/

Udawalawa Nationl Park

Udawalawe National Park is  a national park. It is  two and half hours drive from Galle . It is famous for elephant safaris and waterbirds.

Ella

Ella is a small town in the Badulla District of Uva Province,. It is approximately 200 kilometers from Galle and is situated at an elevation of 1,041 meters above sea level. The area has a rich bio-diversity, dense with numerous varieties of flora and fauna. Wikipedia

Beaches

White sandy beaches are pristine. Find  the activity you prefer .  Whale watching , relax in the beach, surfing are few you can enjoy.  

Turtle Hatacheries

There are few turtle rescue centers and hatcheries around Galle. Five turtle species , Leatherback, Loggerhead, Green and Olive Ridley lives around the Sri Lankan coastal lines.
